The Tennessee Section PGA Member Qualifier for the Knoxville Open was contested on Monday at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tennessee PGA professionals Scott Moran (Fox Den Country Club), Barney Alary (Farm Lakes at Riverside Golf Center), and Walt Chapman (Through the Green of Knoxville) earned spots in the Nationwide Tour’s 2008 Knoxville Open, to be competed at Fox Den June 19th – 22nd. Under drizzle and gray skies, Tournament host Moran shot a tournament-low 3 under-par 69 to grab the first of the three available spots in the Knoxville Open. Alary and Chapman had matching 73’s in the tough conditions. Henrik Simonsen (The Honors) and Patrick Williams (Cherokee Country Club) are the first and second alternates. |
