PERSONETT, HARSTON, KORTH (a), WATERS (a) WIN AT
BOBBY NICHOLS IRONWOOD CLASSIC
(Cookeville, TN) The Bobby Nichols Ironwood Classic was held today featuring 55 professionals and amateurs from Tri-Cities to Memphis.
Loren Personett (Antioch), McCabe Golf Course won the professional division with his -6 under par round of 66. For his efforts he took home the first place prize of $1,200. In the Senior Professional Division, Buddy Hartson PGA, (Nashville) Head Coach at David Lipscomb University matched Personett’s 66 to win the Senior Professional Division.
In the Regular Amateur Division it was local Paul Korth who won his division by six shots as he posted a -4 under par 68 on the day. Maryville’s Ron Waters won the Senior Amateur division with a 69 (-3 under par).
Tennessee PGA Professionals and amateurs from all over the state came to remember long time head professional and owner of Ironwood Golf Course, Bobby Nichols, who passed away earlier this year. Bobby was remembered for his love of golf, the PGA and hosting this tournament. We hope everyone will come out for next year’s event which will be hosted in late September.
