Franklin, Tennessee- Matthew Brock of Chattanooga, Tennessee won the Tennessee TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Championship Tuesday, September 23rd at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay in Harrison, Tennessee.
“It was a good win”, said Brock, the assistant at Chattanooga Country Club. By winning, Brock qualified for the 2008 TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Championship, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 2008, at The PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker Course) in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The facility will be hosting its thirteenth consecutive PGA Assistant Championship.
Brock, 25, posted a final-round 72 for a tournament total of 141 and a 3-stroke victory over Chase Brannon of Nashville, Tennessee.
“I’m excited for the qualifying position”, said Brannon, the assistant at Richland Country Club.
The 120-man field for this year’s 32nd edition of the PGA Assistant Championship consists of the 2007 Champion, if eligible and assistants from a weighted average of total entries of the 41 PGA Sections.
The winner of the 2008 TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Championship earns $9,000 out of the purse of $100,000. Top-70 finishers after the second round, including ties will make the cut.
